Exporting animations from GASP to another project is a very simple process. To do this, we will open a GASP demo along with the project where you want to import the animations.
Go to the folder where you want to retrieve the animations. Then, select the ones you like, right-click on one of them to open the context menu, and choose Asset Actions -> Migrate
.
You can also directly export all the elements in a folder if you find that more convenient! Just right-click on the folder to open the context menu, just like with the animation. Then, all you have to do is click on the Migrate button
.
A window should open with all the files that your animation depends on and that will be exported with it. Normally, you can leave it as is and click OK
. Choose the destination where you want to export your animations. Make sure this destination is at the root of the Content folder of the project in which you are exporting the animations; otherwise, it won't work: Unreal Engine will refuse to export them.
The animations are ready to use. If you are using the UE5 mannequin, it is usually not necessary to retarget the animations, as they are compatible by default.
